No serious blogger will admit it, but each of his publication is an opportunity to check for a few moments the traffic on his site and to think back of his motivations...  Last November, during the Make-Overs ' gig at the Bisik in Saint Benoît, the editor-in-chief of the Reunion web-zine Bongou shared to me that lapidary opinion : we write to be read. I answered him that, as far as I was concerned, it was rather to make live a musical niche - garage, punk and all their by-products - to promote its bands, to convince that my passion is worth the detour, to testify of the various scenes of the underground... But I knew that his remark was right. There's a part of pride and vanity lurking deep inside us. And they are impregnable. I have ever wanted to write and publish my own punk fanzine. Something personal that would give my vision of this universe, that would be nicely arranged with drawings for the visual side of it, and especially, that would have a soul and a freedom of sp...

Moody Notes : Through The Garden *

Batsie, the doggy-looking little bat, was nesting under the roof of the open-air veranda. A cutie, that used to make the show every night, crawling out of her tiny hole among green geckos, clumsily taking off, nervously hunting bugs over the garden and coming back to nurse her periodic litter of baby bats. On some daylights, she could stridently shout after them to keep them quiet till their evening flight. She seemed to be kind of an offset, lonely creature, in the margins of the colony of a thousand bats nesting in the  old electrical tower of the close neighborhood. Overcrowding ? Secret partner of a bat leader ? Disease, doom or exil ? Human-model transpositions weren't lacking and the unknown explanations of Batsie's weird attitude to her congeners kept me busy from time to time. Whatever ! Despite her beastie smell on the warmest days of the year, we got pretty used to her presence and never had the heart to chase her away.   Damned pervasive Covid's paranoia, ...

Gigs' Reviews : May-nland Part 2 - Alvilda + Pogy Et Les Kéfars + The Suttles - 20th Of May 2022 - Le Klub, Paris

Yeah, it was pretty obvious that those two bands were deeply in phase! They had the same dynamism, the same freshness, the same youth, the same enthusiasm and the same smiles. They also showed many similarities in their rock'n'roll attitude, elegantly carrying their feminine touch and a nice DIY ethic, but also in their musical refined tastes and in their background through the rock counter-culture. While listening to their recordings, the same kind of sonic explosion and heady melodies caught our ears, and similar themes tackled the poignant, but not headstrong, little stories of their daily life. Moreover, this obvious symbiosis between the two bands, Alvilda   x and Pogy & les Kéfars x , was the driving force of an awesome renewal of the French power-pop scene.
