And, as did the Italian label Goodbye Boozy Records in Europe in the late 2010s/early 2020s, the Californian label Under The Gun Records also played a decisive role in its development across the United States. A decade earlier, however, Under The Gun Records was just one of those countless DIY micro-structures dedicated to the releases of demo tapes from obscure local punk bands. The label, based in the eastern suburbs of Los Angeles, clearly had the good idea when it approached Gee Tee , Satanic Togas and C.O.F.F.I.N. to release the cassette versions of their first albums.
