What's the best format to discover a new band or to keep a snapshot of your favorite combo, while avoiding the often-boring listening of a full length album? The 45 rpm vinyls, of course! This month, we have chosen a large selection of Ep and Sp. We have mixed up with some typical Froggy Oi soundings, a Californian mod-revival/indie band, a post-punk combo from Minnesota, as well as a nice bunch of glorious losers from the Australian underground: bedroom-pop from Canberra and  Melbourne  power-pop, old-school hardcore and heavy-punk. Yeah, it was pretty obvious that those two bands were deeply in phase! They had the same dynamism, the same freshness, the same youth, the same enthusiasm and the same smiles. They also showed many similarities in their rock'n'roll attitude, elegantly carrying their feminine touch and a nice DIY ethic, but also in their musical refined tastes and in their background through the rock counter-culture. While listening to their recordings, the same kind of sonic explosion and heady melodies caught our ears, and similar themes tackled the poignant, but not headstrong, little stories of their daily life. Moreover, this obvious symbiosis between the two bands, Alvilda   x and Pogy & les Kéfars x , was the driving force of an awesome renewal of the French power-pop scene.
