The year was starting pretty well on Reunion Island. Ok, obviously, not as well as the beginning of 2020, when some of the best international garage bands had played around here - it was sad to understand that the dynamic was definitely broken up.  But the fact that our far-away island had luckily remained rather spared by the virus for almost a year, still allowed us to check a few awesome shows of our local rock'n'roll heros : mesmerizing release party at Le Kabardock for the surf combo Pamela & the Andersons and the psychobilly band Mothra Slapping Orchestra , promising new project for the tropical Italian One-Man-Band Mr Occhio , with an unplugged bluesy/gospel-without-God show… King Automatic , from Nancy, who had become half a Reunion guy since the Absürd Fest, also played a few times around, and during one of his visit on the island, he had the good idea to take with him a garage French boy of his old pals : Jean-Luc Jousse , aka Johnny Jostone , aka Johnny Boy Kle...

HOWLIN' JAWS - Heartbreaker / Goodbye Sp - LE CEPE RECORDS - 2021   X In the mid-tenies, three handsome young boys flipped up the Parisian rock'n'roll scene with their punchy shows and their classical, but classy 50's sound : double bass and warm voice of the singer, jovial vocals, energy and freshness at every stage... The trio band Howlin' Jaws applied the recipe on its first three singles - funny to check back nowadays their interview on the 2016 first issue of La Nouvelle Revue Instructive - and finally recorded a maxi-EP, Burning House , which seemed to announce a more modern turn in their musical approach.  We're finding them back where they left us three years ago : if the 50's frame still remains, the powerpop, 60's beat and mod's influences are now more extensive, the bass often substitutes the double bass and discret keyboard parts may sometimes appear.
